Recently, I got a question from one of my students. It stated, "What precisely is pot odds and is Hold’em pot probabilities technique worth pursuing?"

One factor to remember, any type of Hold em probabilities can and usually do have incredibly confusing. Even so, let me break pot probabilities down in very easy terms. Please note that we are only discussing Pot Odds. Not outs, implied odds, simple odds or something else like that.

In short, pot probabilities are the probabilities you obtain when determining the ratio of the quantity of money in the pot to the amount of money it will cost you to call the bet.

For instance, let us say you are heads up with Gambler A. If there’s one hundred and fifty dollars in the pot after the flop and Gambler A places a $20.00 bet it is going to price you only 13 percent of the pot to stay in the hand. If your likelihood of winning is greater than thirteen per cent it’s a no-brainer to call because you would have great pot probabilities.

That is all there would be to it truly. Hold em pot probabilities boils down to one factor. If your chance of winning is better than the ratio of the pot size to the bet then you’ve great pot probabilities. If it is lower than you might have bad pot probabilities.

One more thought about Texas holdem pot probabilities. You are still playing the player more so than anything else. Play the player a lot more than your starting hands or the size of the chip stack and even, yes the pot probabilities.

If you’ll be able to learn to read your opponents well it is possible to utilize pot odds to aid justify or solidify your choice. But Texas hold em pot probabilities do not have to be an end all whenever you generate a poker judgement.

Knowing and understanding how Texas hold’em pot probabilities work is usually a useful and successful system. Except again don’t make Hold’em pot probabilities your only strategy.
