Internet poker has become world famous as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years several variants on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little bluffing or different kinds of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the dealer declares "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course every one of the other players are given five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the casino’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call bet or give up. The call wager’s value is equal to your beginning wager, meaning that the risks will have doubled. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantaneously to the casino. After the wager comes the face off. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, including a figure on par with the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The house pony’s up money equal to your original bet and set expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
