Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
by Maci on Mar.20, 2016, under Poker
Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to achieve final table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a large pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest enthusiasts around the world. While gambling on internet poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Gus generally buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all in. I believe Gus is an excellent poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless he is flat broke, he has no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy in.
Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is assumed to be one of the best players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amt.. I believe television can alter our view of the real world at times. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in high stakes omaha high and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in money games?
