Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient ancestry. Founded on the old Chinese domino game and the modern American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the wild west in a great game for new gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player against the croupier, unlike the majority of other poker games that players play against other players. By betting against the dealer, starting players don’t have to be concerned about any other, more advanced gamblers winning their mulla.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the casino gets 7 cards face down.

One 5 card hand and one 2 card hand must be made from the 7 cards dealt, the five card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be larger than the dealer’s.
