Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
by Maci on Dec.13, 2020, under Poker
Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to achieve final game in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest enthusiasts in the world. While gambling on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen more often than not buys in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all-in. I believe Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to settle at the table with the min buy in.
Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the total dollar value. I think tv can skew our perception of the real world at times. The best poker players anywhere in the world may be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen competing in online poker on Full Tilt. He usually participates in high stakes Omaha and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in cash games?
