Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

by Maci on Jun.26, 2024, under Poker

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only one to achieve last table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest players in the world. While playing net poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He often plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Gus frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I know Gus is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the min buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the ability out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the greatest poker players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amount. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest players in the world might just be players you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in high stakes omaha hi-low and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in money games?
